Happy New Year! It is hard to believe it is 2018. A new year brings new policies and opportunities when it comes to waste and trash in the Denver community. We have compiled information that may be useful as you start to plan your 2018 clean-up goals.
Composting Available in All Denver Neighborhoods
If you are not already composting, now is the perfect time to start! Denver trash is now making the environment-friendly waste disposal available for everyone. If the idea of composting makes you nervous, Denver has made it easy by providing a bin where you can place compostable items such as yard debris, leftover or rotten food, and non-recyclable materials in and have it picked up weekly. Composting keeps the environment healthy by saving space in the landfill and reducing greenhouse emissions. Be sure to sign up today at DenverGov.org/GoGreen.
Increased Extra Trash Collection Services
2018 will bring additional extra trash collection services to Denver residents. Check out the calendar here to see when the service will be in your area. Getting rid of extra trash is simple – place your extra items in the same area as your trash bin on your normal pickup day by 7 am. There is a maximum of 10 trash bags and 5 large items for each household on the extra trash days. For more information about the service check out this handy brochure!
Cherry Creek Recycling Drop-Off Area
If you are a Denver resident you now have access to a no-cost recycling drop-off in Cherry Creek. This is a great opportunity to get rid of your recyclable items in a green, environmentally friendly way that is free! At this time the drop-off location is ONLY for Denver residents. For more information and exact location, see map here.
Electronic Waste & Recycling (E-Waste)
