dumpster rental englewoodEnglewood, Colorado has a rich history-partly due to the city’s location. It all started in 1858 when gold was discovered in Little Dry Creek by William Russell. In 1860 Thomas Skerritt, who is now considered to be Englewood’s founder, built his home in the area. Skerritt connected Englewood to Denver by building a road with his own plough. Since then the city has grown dramatically-the Swedish Hospital was built (which is still in use today), it became independent from Denver water in 1948 when 2,500 acres of the Platte Canyon was purchased, and had the largest mall west of the Mississippi called Cinderella City (now closed). Today, thousands of people call Englewood home.

Englewood Colorado Tour of the town

Keep it clean

In Englewood trash and litter scattered around any property is prohibited. According to the city’s website the following rules must be followed:

  • Trash needs to be stored in covered trash containers to prevent it from being scattered by animals or the elements, and to prevent the spread of offensive odors.
  • Trash containers cannot be set out in front of the property prior to 24 hours before collection.
  • Trash containers to the rear of the property must be stored so that they do not obstruct the alley right-of-way.
  • All households and businesses are required to have trash removal service at least once a week.

Clearly, the people living in Englewood are determined to keep their city clean. There are other events that the city puts on to encourage people to get rid of their waste in a safe and responsible matter (pulled from the Englewood website):
